Are bed side rails a good idea for my mom who fell from her bed?
I’m looking at portable bed rails for adults to help my 80 year old mother who fell from bed. I hadn’t thought about bed side rails but they seem to make a a lot of sense. She has very poor balance, which means she relies on a walking aid, a walker and sometimes a wheelchair, when she’s up and about. And of course, if she falls she can’t stand up on her own. I’M AFRAID IF SHE FALLS AGAIN it may turn into something worse. How can I stop her from falling out of bed? Should I use full length bed side rails?
It does sound like your mother would benefit from bed side rails. However, It’s very important that you use them with caution and read all the information about the risks and safe use of these products. Bed side rails are used to create a supportive sleeping environment; they’ll prevent her from falling off the bed. The length will depend on you needs: full length, half, quarter or the adjustable ones. What’s more, you can even get one for each side of the bed if you think it necessary. This will definitely help to prevent her from falling.
